ROCCASPINALVETI is situated on a small hill at the foot of Forra della Scarpa, in the high valley of Sinello River. The archaeological finds appeared, such as two small bronzes representing italic warriors and likely to be Godden Mars votive statues, testimony an archaic presence in the area of transhumant stations or flock transits. The new Roccaspinalveti is today a rare and interesting example of 19th century town planning based on two main road axis. The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel is worth visiting; it preserves a valuable processional silver cross by Nicola da Guardiagrele. While walking along the village roads, it is possible to admire the noble stone palaces of the 19th century and several examples of peasant and pastoral architecture. One can explore the old Roccaspinalveti by visiting the locality of Roccavecchia. On the 15th of August the village celebrates the grilled lamb Festival.
