The property overlooks the center square of a small quarter of Pretoro.
From historical sources appears to be the first building of the district as built in the mid nineteenth century by a family from Guardiagrele and owners who resided here, also owned a brick kiln near it.

PRETORO is an ancient mountain village, said to have Knights Templar connections. In the national park of Abruzzo where eagles soar and nature abounds, and there can be found rare flowers and plants. There is an abundance of marked walking, mountain biking and horse riding trails, and many sites of of historic interest, caves, hermitages etc. The area is full of small market towns and villages each with their own charm and specialist crafts. Among the events dedicated to Saint Domenico, together with the event taking place in Cocullo, we find the commemoration of the miracle of St. Domenico and the wolf in Pretoro. The miraculous event tells of a child that is kidnapped by a wolf while his parents are in the forest collecting wood: St. Domenico tames the wolf, and the latter takes back home the small child. The miracle of St. Domenico and the wolf is reenacted on the edges of a wood, not far from the centre of the picturesque village of Pretoro. According to the tradition, the actors are all men and the child is the last born in the village. The wolf is a man wearing wolf skin.
