Historical Background

Originally known as Ripalta sul Trigno, the village was renamed Mafalda in 1903 in honor of Princess Mafalda of Savoy . The area has medieval origins, evident in its architectural features such as the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle and the Juliani Palace.

Natural Environment

Mafalda is characterized by its rich natural landscapes, including approximately 400 hectares of green areas. This comprises Mediterranean vegetation, pine forests, and diverse woodlands with oaks, flowering ash, and holm oaks, contributing to the area's high environmental biodiversity.
