MAFALDA is located in a hilly area, a land of flavors, colors and traditions, in the Frentani mountains by the Trigno river. The town sits on a hill located at 459 m above sea level and surrounded by beautiful woods that preserve a wonderful animal and plant biodiversity. Under the Ripalta Vecchia hill there is a small lake known as “Lago Mizzittaro”, probably of volcanic origin. A legend tells that this lake is very deep, some think it is connected with the sea.
